Ezra Hurwitz is a two time Emmy awarded film director.
From the age of 7, Ezra trained as dancer with the New York City Ballet; and became a professional - performing on international stages, and collaborating with renown choreographers, musicians, fashion designers & fine artists.
With a passion for visual storytelling, Ezra discovered filmmaking when sidelined from the stage due to injury. By the time he recovered, he was already creating films for cultural institutions like the Guggenheim Museum, MOMA, New York Times, and Lincoln Center.
Shortly thereafter, Ezra was tapped by filmmaker Spike Jonze to collaborate for the fashion label, Opening Ceremony; and was soon tapped by brands like Tiffanys, Dior, Smirnoff, Apple, Aldo, and Stella Artois.
Ezra earned a degree in film from Columbia University, and his first Emmy Award for the 2020 film, ‘Inside & Outwards’, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker and music by Sufjan Stevens. He was awarded his second Emmy for “Echoes of Ailey” in 2025.
Ezra has worked with such talent as Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Glenn Close, Rachel Weisz, Ethan Hawk, Laverne Cox, Regina Hall, MJ Rodriguez, Misty Copeland, Sia, LaKeith Stanfield, Mia Wasikowska, Vanessa William and others.
Ezra’s clients include Netflix, Amazon and Disney, as well as brand like DoorDash, Stella Artois, LG, Tillamook, Kahluah, Frito-Lay, Clorox, Lego.
